We are excited to share that our school has inaugurated a wonderful collaboration with Navakshitija to enhance the creative journey of our students. Through this partnership, students will receive professional art training from skilled artists, helping them explore their creativity and express themselves in various forms of art.
It was a joyful and meaningful beginning to a new learning experience beyond the classroom.
A colouring competition was organised for UKG students, where the little artist happily participated, using bright colours to bring their drawings to life. The event provided a fun and creative platform for the children to showcase their talent.
At Sri Vidya Mandir, we believe that every child has a unique talent waiting to shine. Through the Navakshitija program, we encourage our students to explore and enjoy classical art forms like Bharatanatyam, Carnatic singing, Mridangam and Flute. These activities not only speak creativity, but also help improve focus, memory and self-confidence.
This event gave our students an exciting chance to learn from experts and express themselves through music and dance. It was a joyful celebration of art, talent and learning beyond the classroom.
Sri Vidya Mandir has come forward and collaborated with Aryan Martial Arts to encourage the students to develop physical discipline ,mental focus, and self-defense techniques to cultivate strength, confidence, and inner peace .
WIZ International Spell Bee helps students to improve their spelling skills, word usage, sentence construction, pronunciation and ultimately over all use of language that will aid early years of growth and development. So we at Vidya Mandir Education Society , conducted School level competition from standard I to IV on 20th and 21st August.
Every talent is a gift waiting to be unwrapped. Arts are very essential in one's life they give us joy, boost our confidence and improve attention span .Sri Vidya Mandir has come forward and collaborated with Navakshitija enterprises to encourage our students to learn different classical art forms such as Bharatanatyam Carnatic vocals mridangam and flute which help them boost their memory and increase their concentration. Learning does not end at the classroom door it dances sings and performs too.
In continuation of the literary activities collage making was conducted for the VII std students with the choice of the topic between Unity in Diversity and Operation Sindoor. Students had collected enough materials and created wonderful collages. Pot painting was conducted for V std students, wherein these students with nimble hands coloured the pots and painted designs on them
VIC2 class selected the historic state of Rajasthan and depicted it with colourful charts, camels, kites and festivities such as songs, dance, puppet shows and dramas. A very colourful week indeed.
Independence Day was celebrated with the official function of flag hoisting by the President of our institution Miss Chandrika Gowda. Students performed many programs as drill, dance, sang patriotic songs and also spoke on the freedom struggle.
This class chose West Bengal as their theme and portrayed it well through information, recitation of Rabindranath Tagore’s poem – Where the mind is without fear, Rabindra Sangeet, voice recordings of freedom fighters, dance and songs. This class also presented the library of our school books on Nethaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
The VI B students took up the state Manipur and portrayed its rich culture, history and contribution through informative speeches, charts, dance and songs. It was very colourful and the students answered to the questions posed to them.
Students of VI std participated in making beautiful and innovative rangoli designs. It was very difficult time for the judges.
The students of VI A chose Goa as their state and portrayed the state very well by giving information through charts and speech. They explained the different festivals celebrated there. Colourful dances, songs and musical instruments filled in the week.
It is important to cultivate patriotism and respect for the war heroes. Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated every year with proper reverence. Students enacted the Param Veer Chakra heroes and spoke of their bravery. Students melodious sang patriotic song. The candle lighting was inaugurated by our Head Mistress Uma mam, then the students followed. It was wonderful to see the candles lit in front of the photos of war heroes.
Students of VII std all participated in cooking without fire and created innovative, healthy and tasty dishes. A feast for eyes and the stomach.
Students of all the three classes V, VI and VII participated in flower arrangement and created beautiful and stunning designs, making it very difficult for the judges.
The state chosen by this class was Uttar Pradesh. They depicted the state well with charts, information regarding the history, contribution in the field of Science, Maths, art, architecture and devotion. Dances and songs made the program colourful. On the last day they put questions which was answered eagerly by the students.
The students performed wonders in nails and creative vegetable carvings. The classes V, VI and VII performed the Saturday activities.
Guru Purnima is celebrated to present gratitude to the Lord and teachers. Students need to know the importance of earning blessing from their teachers. So, this event is celebrated with divinity every year. A special pooja was conducted. Students spoke on the importance of the day. They say folk song and Govindashtakam. A dance on the greatness of guru was performed by the students. Bhajans was conducted wherein everyone chanted after the prayer group. Throughout day activities were conducted. The VII std students wrote their memories of the school and put them into the memory jar. A collage was later made from them. The VI and V std students created a balloon bouquet of the values they learnt in school.
The Bharat Scouts and guides students from our school conducted an awareness rally in the premises of Vidhan Soudha on Tuesday.
Every year students elect their own representative in the form of a Head Boy and Head Girl. This not only enhances their responsibilities but also helps them to learn about the democratic process to enable the students to become responsible citizens when they become adults. The process was explained by the Head Mistress during assembly and the selected students introduced themselves to the audience. The next day the campaigned in all the classes. We are now breathlessly waiting the results on election day (18/06/25). Let the best campaigner win.
Elections were conducted to elect the student pupil leader. From using a mobile app last year to developing our own exclusive voting platform for students this year—our school elections are now smarter and more student-centered than ever!

The theme for assembly activities this year is the depiction of states. VII A section choose the state Tamil Nadu and the entire week saw information on the important freedom fighters, great mathematicians, scientists and sports people of Tamil Nadu. There were songs written by famous poets sung, classical Bharatanatyam dance and the on Friday, Kavadi dance on Lord Muruga became the grand finale of the week’s events.
International Yoga Day and Music Day is celebrated every year with vigor as it is imperative for young minds to understand the importance of these traditions. Students performed a dance on yoga theme. Students spoke on the importance of yoga for all and also the greatness of music as therapy. Mandala yoga was performed by the students. It is a form of yoga which is based on Mandala design and is excellent from arial view as students make different shapes by circular motion. Students sang using Kalyani Raga, a medley of Hindustani and Carnatic forms. Students of all classes performed yoga the entire day.
Singing song from Dasa Sahitya, the students praise God in proper raga and thalas. Many students participated and it was a difficult time for the judges to choose a winner. Results awaited.
It is imperative to keep our mind and body healthy. A medical examination of our students was conducted in the school premises on the above-mentioned dates. The examination was conducted by 7 General, Dental and ENT Doctors along with 4 Optometrists from Unique Health, 2 Nurses from Sparsh Hospital and 4 Nursing students from Mount Shepherd Medical.
The students of VII B took up the theme of Karnataka and portrayed the state through information about the great contributors, charts, folk dance, Yakshagana, a skit showing the origin of Hoysala Dynasty, key board piece and song on the importance of Kannada. The grand finale was the celebration of Kempegowda Jayanthi on 27/06/2025.
Avani Shetty of Class 9A participated in the Asian Cadet Cup 2025, where she qualified in the pool rounds and advanced with a win in the Table 64 stage. Earlier, she had secured Gold in the U17 and Bronze in the U19 categories at the State Fencing Championship, earning her place in the National Championship under both categories.

Inspire Awards is an initiative by the Department of Science and Technology, Govt.of India , to instil scientific vigour and temperament in students.
Suraj R of class 10D came up with an Innovative idea to help visually disabled people in crossing roads by installing a smart alarm system. His project was selected in 2024 and he was awarded a cash prize of ten thousand rupees to build the project.
Our state level star, Namrata Dasari from class 9 A brought home the silver medal with brilliance and pride! She competed in the Boxing championship held on 25th and 26th July 2025 at Sri Kanteerava Stadium organised by the Karnataka Amateur Boxing Association.
