In remembrance of our beloved founder Leelavathi ma'am, Founder's Day was celebrated. Ma'am laid the foundation and ignited our journey. To celebrate her, various competitions were conducted across the grades for the students of Lower Primary.
As a part of the Vedya – Academic Fest, Mathematics activities, V std students had Math Relay wherein the teams have to solve sums and pass it to their team members. This helps develop sharp minds and nimble hands. VI std students had bouncing sums in which the teams had to solve mathematical situations to proceed to higher rounds. Through these activities not only do we develop keen minds but also forge a team spirit.
Every year the birthday of our Founder Smt. N Leevathy mam is celebrated as Founder’s Day with the academic fest called Vedya. This year the VII std students set up stalls as in market, selling jewelry, fancy items, cupcakes, dry chats, biscuits, samosas, peda, sandwiches, gulab jamoons, many varieties of soft drinks as cold coffee, lemon soda, mojito, milk shakes etc. Many stalls for games were also available. Students participated in this activity. Though this activity is called profit and loss…..there is certainly no loss but only profit. The profit is then used to get essential items for an old age home nearby as bedsheets, towels and certain perishable in dire need. Students learn the concept of profit and loss, responsibility and learn to respect elders.
As a part of Founder’s Day Academic Fest – Vedya, English Activities were conducted. VII std students prepared a news page with a theme of the wars of the last decade. VI std students had dumb charades competition. V std the students participated in sentence racing. This helps students to hone their language skills.
